Father and Son Charged with Marijuana Crimes
Jay Zimmerman, age 69, and Alan Zimmerman, age 42 have both been charged with felony crimes relating to marijuana offenses.
Each man had a sophisticated marijuana cultivation operation in his house, although the home of the father had less marijuana. The son was arrested first with 383 marijuana plants, 22,700 grams of cannabis, and 8 guns, 4 of which were assault rifles. The father was arrested the next day with 17,252 grams of marijuana and 3 guns.
Police have stated that between the two men, there was $3-5 million worth of marijuana. As of August 10, Alan Zimmerman has been charged with felony possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and Jay Zimmerman has been charged with manufacturing cannabis and delivering cannabis. Both men will likely face additional charges.
Alan Zimmerman is being held without bond and Jay Zimmerman is being held on a $10,000 bond. Their houses were in separate counties so they men are being held in separate jails.
