Soon-to-be High School Senior Shot to Death

18 year old Anthony Carter was killed by an unknown gunman late on Sunday as he was returning home from a store. According to police reports, Carter saw two of his friends and another unknown man talking, and that the other man had a gun. When he went to talk to the group, he was shot once in the stomach and seven more times in the back.

At least one of Carter's friends was pleading with the gunman not to kill him. It is not known why Carter was shot, yet both of his friends were unharmed. Police are speculating that it might have been an issue of gang territory, whereas Carter's father believes that his son may have interrupted an armed robbery in progress.

If the shooter is found, he will be charged with murder and weapons offenses. Carter was about to start his senior year at Crane High School.
