More Than 150 Bras Stolen from Victoria's Secret
The local Victoria's Secret at Northbrook Court was burglarized last week. 153 bras were stolen from the store on December 20th. The theft occurred during normal business hours, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Each of the bras was worth approximately $63, meaning the total stolen was almost $10,000 worth of merchandise. This value causes the crime to be a felony offense.
Northbrook Police say that they have seen retail theft of this type before, where the thief steals what is in the window display because it is grouped together and easier to grab all at once than merchandise in the store. They are aggressively pursuing the thief, both for punishment and to ensure that this type of incident does not happen again.
They are unsure about the market for stolen bras, although sites such as eBay are known to sell discounted lingerie, which could be stolen.
