Accidental Scratch on Car Resulted in Homicide
A local man died on July 7th after being beaten, and two men from his neighborhood are being held for homicide.
The victim, Larry Brown, was 46. He lived in West Side near his parents, who witnessed the beating. According to police reports, Brown accidentally scratched another car around 3:30 in the morning and did not notice. The owner of the car is local rapper Steven Fox, also known as Sincere the Realist. He and his friend, 35 year old Edward Brown, are accused of beating Larry Brown and causing the injuries that lead to his death. Edward Brown was previously convicted of a felony drug crime and was on parole.
The victim's parents begged the defendants to stop, and that is when the defendants allegedly explained that they were beating him because he scratched Fox's car. They fled when the victim became unconscious. He regained consciousness and was able to tell his parents the names of the attackers, but fell into a coma at the hospital and died a few weeks later.
If convicted, the two men could face the death penalty.
