Murder Suspect Detained

Police finally caught up with the man believed to be responsible for shooting and killing a 48-year-old woman.

Last week the man, a housekeeping employee at a hospital in Chicago, Illinois, entered the hospital parking lot and shot a fellow employee. The suspect is believed to have worked at the same hospital and might have been in a relationship with the victim. After the hospital was locked down for several hours while police searched for the suspect, the lockdown was lifted on the assumption that he was not on the premises.

The suspect was not detained at his home but during a routine traffic stop. The officer immediately arrested the suspect thanks to a BOLO report and tried to detain him. Instead, the man fled from his car but was caught several blocks away by responding officers. He was arrested for multiple violent crimes including murder.

Police now believe that he was never actually inside the hospital when the shooting occurred.
