It took Chicago police over one year to pin charges onto the man thought to have murdered another man in the city. The 24-year-old suspect now faces multiple charges that could land him decades behind bars.
The murder took place on November 4, 2010 in the apartment of the victim. Police determined that the suspect entered the apartment with the intention of robbing the older man. Things went awry and the older man was shot and killed by the suspect. As a result of their investigation, police have charged the suspect with attempted armed robbery, home invasion, attempted
murder, first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Reports indicate that there was one more person in the apartment while the robbery was taking place. Luckily, this individual survived the attack by escaping through a back window. The suspect is already behind bars on an unrelated incident involving aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
