Two High School Students Shot at Bus Stop
Two students at South Shore High School were shot by an unknown assailant Monday afternoon after school. One student, who has not been identified publicly, was shot in the back and in the buttocks. The other student, 18 year old Raymond Pope, Jr., was shot in the thigh. Another person at the bus stop was able to stop another bus and have them call 911. The victims were rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Doctors do not believe that the injuries will be fatal to the two young men, who have been best friends since grammar school.
The gunman fled the scene on foot and he has not been caught. If he does, however, he will likely face charges such as attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and
weapons violations. The father of one of the victims is speaking out about security at South Shore High School.
