Adamant 'Not Guilty' Plea for Michael Jackson's Doctor
Doctor Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's doctor who was present at the time of his death, was charged with involuntary manslaughter after his death. His trial is set to begin soon, and he has entered a not guilty plea.
Murray and his lawyer have stated that they won't take a plea bargain because they are sure of Murray's innocence. They hold that Michael Jackson injected himself with the fatal dose of propofol while Murray was out of the room. The prosecution, however, says that leaving the propofol near Jackson constitutes gross negligence, and that it shouldn't have been administered as a sleep aid, that he should have been monitored, that Murray should have called 911 immediately and that it doesn't make sense why he did CPR on Jackson on the bed instead of on the floor.
If convicted, Murray could face up to four years in prison. Also, being convicted of a felony means that he would lose his license to practice medicine.
