Phone Call from Jail Implicates Inmate in 2009 Double Murder

Christopher Doehring, who was initially arrested on home invasion and robbery charges, has accidentally implicated himself in another, unrelated crime. The murders of two individuals remained unsolved for almost two years before Doehring made a phone call that would change his life.

In the call, which was recorded because it was made from a jail, he admitted to the double murder. He has now been charged with two counts of murder, one count of armed robbery and another count of home invasion. He could be facing life in prison if convicted of the charges.

Prisoners should always remember not to talk about crimes in which they were or could have been involved while in custody. Phone calls, interviews and questionings are all recorded, and even talking to another inmate could result in further charges, as inmates often make plea deals to testify.
