Officers' Hunches Prove Valid in Drug Crime Case
Chicago police officers were dispatched to investigate an abandoned car, only to find it occupied by two people who were up to no good.
According to the police report, the suspects, a 24-year-old male and a 25-year-old female, were sitting inside a 1996 Acura, which was parked in an empty alley. When asked what they were up to, one suspect told officers that they were waiting for a friend. Since the officers had witnessed both suspects leaning towards the center console they were suspicious of their activity.
Although officers didn't have reason to inspect the car at first, an expired license was enough to place the male in custody. The woman then presented her ID, which led officers to discover that she was wanted on an arrest warrant. After both suspects were taken into custody, the officers searched the car to find drug paraphernalia and white powder residue. Both individuals now face multiple drug crime charges.
