Suspect had Record of 106 Arrests in Chicago
While the term "career criminal" may be used in jest for some, it is a serious title for one man in Chicago.
The suspect, a 52-year-old male, already has a criminal record that boasts 106 arrests. The latest arrest barely comes as a surprise to officers who have dealt with the suspect before, like Officer B. He was called in to speak with the victim, a 71-year-old man, who was approached by the suspect and another male, attacked and then deprived of the $60 that he had held in his hand.
Luckily for the arresting officers, the suspect and his accomplice were in the middle of the theft and assault when they pulled up. The suspect was told to stop fighting, which he refused to do, and even started to take his aggression out on one of the officers. When he was finally subdued, the suspect was charged with battery and resisting arrest, as well as strong-armed robbery of a handicapped victim over 60.
A quick review of the suspect's arrest history reveals 106 arrests for misdemeanors, felonies and city violations; 18 of those resulted in convictions. He is now behind bars in lieu of $125,000 bail.
