Woman Behind TCF Bank Robbery
While you may normally associate bank robbers as being men, police in Chicago were surprised to learn that the person behind a TCF bank robbery was a woman.
Police reports show that the suspect, Navahcia Edwards, entered the TCF Bank in Palos Heights on May 29. She was wearing a mask and nun habit, pointed a gun at the tellers and walked away with $120,000 cash. During the investigation of the bank robbery, the FBI were able to track Edwards down by the credit cards she used to purchase two masks and two nun habits from a local costume shop. Once they had a name for the suspect, officials then learned that Edwards had once worked for the very same branch she robbed.
This isn't the first time that Edwards has robbed a bank, however, as she had already been charged for the robbery of a Chase bank in Country Club Hills in June.
