Defendant Connected to Old Murder Case

A man already believed to be part of a shooting four months ago is now believed to have killed a marijuana dealer four years ago.

Bail was denied this week for Deonta Davis, who has been charged with first-degreemurder. He has been accused of fatally shooting one man while injuring two others. The judge also charged him with felony resisting arrest for trying to disarm the arresting officers. On April 25 police responded to a call that a 19-year-old man was shot seven times. The victim, who survived the attack, later identified Davis in a police lineup.

Based on his history and other evidence, police were then able to link him to the March 12, 2007 murder of Perry Jackson. On that occasion Davis and three men drove to the 900 block of North Homan Avenue with the intention of robbing a marijuana dealer.

If you have been charged with committing a violent crime, it is advised that you contact our legal team to consult with a Chicago criminal defense attorney who can get involved in your case immediately.
