Cupcake Attack Leads to Domestic Violence Arrest
What has officers laughing in Chicago is actually a serious crime.
One woman was arrested last week in the South Side for physically assaulting her husband. In addition to throwing punches and verbally abusing him, she pelted him with multiple cupcakes. The arresting officers took the crime seriously, however, and arrested her on suspicion of domestic violence.
Although the husband did not want to speak about the incident, evidence of the battle in the form of cupcake crumbs could be seen on his head and shirt. In addition to harassing her husband, the woman was verbally abusive to the responding officers as well.
At her arraignment, the judge decided to accept the charge of misdemeanor domestic violence and ordered the woman to wear an electronic monitoring anklet. She was released on $10,000 bond but is due back in court later this month. This is not the first time that the woman has been arrested for domestic violence, but the third over the past few years.
