Simple Game Leads to Assault and Arrest
What started as a simple fight between two men near Chicago turned into a robbery and police evasion.
Officers in DeKalb, Illinois were called to the scene of a fight that was taking place in an apartment. Allegedly, two men had been playing a game of dice when it came time to discuss the winnings. From what the officers could determine, one man simply did not want to give up the winnings and as a result proceeded to attack the other man. That assaulter then jumped into his vehicle and drove away, passing several police officers on the way.
Officers say that the man drove erratically through the town, even driving into oncoming traffic to avoid police capture. When he finally stopped his vehicle, he again tried to get away from the officers who managed to tackle him down to the ground. Once in custody, the man was charged with reckless driving, aggravated battery and several counts of robbery.
