A warrant was issued on Thursday for the arrest of a gang member in the connection of a fatal shooting that occurred last month in the west side of Chicago.
Officers said the 26 year old man, an alleged member of the Conservative Vice Lords, is wanted in the slaying of Antonio Johnson, 15, a sophomore at Marshall Metropolitan High School who was a player in the frosh-soph football team.
Cook County court records show that the alleged gang member has felony narcotics and
weapon convictions.
Antonio and his mother were outside their home on Sept. 25 when a vehicle pulled up and a man opened fire. The 15 year old boy was shot in the head, while his mother sustained a wound to her forearm.
Law enforcement said Antonio and his mother were not the intended targets of the shooting. She has said an occupant from the car shouted her other son's name before the shots rang out.
