83 year old Woman Sexually Assaulted

Orland Park police and other area police departments searched for an individual sexually assaulted an 83-year-old woman in a field behind a home-repair store late this morning after she tried to help the man, who she thought was homeless.
The victim called 911 about 11:15 a.m. to report she was attacked in a field behind store in the southwest suburb, according to a release from the law enforcement.
The woman told police officers that before the assault, she had tried to help the individual because she thought he was homeless and lived in the woods behind the store, according to law enforcement.
The man instead knocked her to the ground and assaulted her before a police patrol car scared him off. Police believe the man may have fled on a black bicycle.
After the attack, the woman as treated for minor injuries at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, officers said.
Officers described the attacker as white, between 35 and 45 years old, about 5-foot-8, with a thin build, curly red hair, a red beard and missing some teeth. The man may have been wearing a black leather jacket and carrying a black backpack, officers said.
