Officers Arrest Woman Wanted in 5 Year Old Murder Case

Although it took nearly five years to successfully name their suspect, police in Chicago, Illinois were finally able to arrest the person responsible for two stabbing murders.

According to official documents, the suspect, a 43-year-old female, has been charged with the murder of her two friends which took place back in April 2006. At the time, the three women attended the same church and were fast friends. However, officers say that the suspect's mental illness led her to stab her 59-year-old and 73-year-old friends years ago.

While the police department had long believed her to be a person of interest, especially due to some evidence that was found in her apartment, they did not have enough proof to detain her.

However, the woman incriminated herself several years later after she confessed to a worker at the mental health facility where she was staying. The coroner's autopsy reports show that the women were beaten brutally and then stabbed multiple times before dying.
