Officers Arrest Two for Sale of Synthetic Marijuana
Now that synthetic marijuana is illegal in the state of Illinois, the sale of it is also a crime. Two men learned that the hard way when they were arrested for possessing over $1 million worth of fake marijuana and bath salts. This week, the owner of a smoke shop and his manager were detained by officers with the DuPage County Sheriff's office for drug crimes. Since their arrest, they have both been charged with delivery of a controlled substance over 200 grams and the manufacture of the substance as well. After being arrested and brought to a local jail, the two suspects were released after posting 10 percent of their respective $100,000 bonds.
Synthetic marijuana became illegal in July 2011 and police have started investigations around the state to crack down synthetic drug sales.
