In the state of Illinois, news sources report that two teenagers stole hundreds of dollars worth of clothes from a local retailer. However, they did not make it past the parking lot before store security contacted authorities about the shoplifting incident.
Police detained the shoplifters immediately and asked how they were able to leave the store with the merchandise. The two Chicago teens, both age seventeen, said they had obtained a tag removal device that they used in the store. When store clerks found dozens of tags and store censors removed in the fitting rooms, they called the police. Since their arrest, both girls have been charged with burglary and shoplifting, which are serious
theft crimes.
