Life Imprisonment Sought for Husband Charged with Murdering Pregnant Wife

Eric A. Gilford has been accused of stabbing his wife, Kristine Gilford, who was murdered on May 26 last year. He is also charged with the intentional killing of their unborn child, as Kristine Gilford was pregnant at the time.

The couple had apparently argued about her pregnancy before the murder; she then said she was going to stay with family. According to police reports, he found her at the home of an ex-boyfriend. Katherine Gilford's 4 year old daughter was present during the killing, and has told police that Eric Gilford attacked his wife with a hammer and a knife. Police found these weapons in the apartment.

He was found in Wyoming and arrested, now being held without bail. The prosecution has decided not to push for the death penalty after discussing the matter with Katherine Gilford's family.
